1st tour day with a little planning and Idle No More march

October 7th, 2013 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Day 1-Idle No More March | Toronto Ontario | Toronto-Canada - (Comments Off on 1st tour day with a little planning and Idle No More march)

Today the Front Line International touring group organized last minute details for the 4 day tour. I interviewed Jules on the “V”, then Alexandra and Merle documented the resisters on a roof top gathering.

Afterward we walked over to Trinity Belle Park where the Idle No More group were gathering for a potluck and a few speeches. The rain held off for most but, it did finally start drizzling toward the end, however it then stopped again for the march. FYI, it has been pouring for 4 days, so to have sunshine for a little while was a real treat.

A lady and her daughter went through the crowds giving out cups of pumpkin soup and wonderful warm biscuits…so awesome! The drum circle was great, as were the speakers. I ran to get the “V” 4 blocks away at the church (no parking there) so I could follow the marchers as they made their way through downtown Toronto. (more…)

Alais Clay & Wondering Monks will be in the house!

April 1st, 2013 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Education | Pueblo | Pueblo House - (Comments Off on Alais Clay & Wondering Monks will be in the house!)

We have Alais Clay and Wondering Monks willing to do a concert here in Pueblo for Cinco de Mayo to raise funds for the “Pueblo House”. We’ll be hosting them in our little house if it’s ready. We’re planning an event in the park (either Erie or Sticker) after the street parade from Safeway and down 8th St. on the east side. We’d love to have two shows, a concert on Friday night and then again on Saturday.  The message of “occupy for social & economic justice” is the theme?   Both musicians bring political messages through their music and both are very good. We could use some help organizing this event too so please offer if you can.  OTR, Pueblo House, Occupy Pueblo, and “Idle No More” will be taking part in the event. We NEED this to help educate the masses about our world today and doing it with music in the park just seems perfect. (more…)

In Denver with “Idle No More” for Alais Clay support

February 10th, 2013 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Alias Clay Day | Denver - (Comments Off on In Denver with “Idle No More” for Alais Clay support)

Today we packed up the “V” and headed to Denver so we could support Alais Clay who was filming her music video on the Capitol steps. Denise, Cory, myself from OTR and then Matrina, Denise, Luca, Matao and Rudy filled the RV and we rolled out of Pueblo around 9:30. With hot coffee and lots to talk about during the trip we arrived in Denver around 11:30. While we were waiting for Alais to arrive I interviewed Matrina to find out more about “Idle No More” in Pueblo. She & Rudy have been instrumental in bring INM here. A native of Pueblo she and her friends know the city and all its issues. They understand what’s needed to keep the kids out of trouble. (more…)
