Today I joined my good friend Dr. Anne Courtright who is a long time member of the League of Women Voters of Pueblo. She and others put on a luncheon meeting at the Renaissance Restaurant where guest speaker Marguerite Salazar gave a talk on the “Affordable Health Care Act”. Ms Salazar served as President/CEO of Valley Wide Health Services, Inc. (VWHS) since 1989. (more…)
Last night City Council meeting in Pueblo was appalling. With standing room only and then some being turned away everyone was eager to hear about 2 important issues:
1) Relating to Employment Benefits for Same Gender Domestic Partners
2) Amending Citizens United on the ballot
Neither of which was passed and both removed “indefinitely”. (more…)
Attended the Young Dem’s meeting on Friday evening so we could let them know about “Pueblo House” and how Occupy Pueblo is regrouping and growing. The meeting was prompt and organized and timely. The meeting was held at the Cock & Bull Tavern in old Pueblo. The meeting was held downstairs and afterward music was played upstairs (oldies-beattles + elvis).
