Heading west to Colorado!

January 27th, 2013 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in 2nd visit (Dec) | Austin - (Comments Off on Heading west to Colorado!)

There’s been a change in plans. We’ll be leaving Austin heading for Dallas, and then on to Pueblo. Ty Campbell has decided to continue his previous mission and head to Tucson. Raya Irene Rose is staying in Austin with her friends and plans to be involved with local activist efforts. We wish them both well and thank them for their contribution to OTR during the past few weeks, since NOLA. You are true activists and we hope to see you at Pueblo House some time.

Panama Blaek, Denise Valdez and I will be heading to Pueblo House, where we have plans to help organize the final touches, in preparing for occupancy. Denise’s husband Joe will be joining us there mid Feb. As you know, we have big plans for Pueblo House which was donated to OTR last June. This will be a hub for activism and community outreach in Colorado and around the Nation. (more…)

Occupying Austin again

We arrived in Austin about 1/2 hour after the GA started by the time we parked the “V” a couple blocks away.  We recognized a few familiar faces and were pleasantly surprised to see an old acquaintance from El Paso who had just moved here a month ago and who remembered me very well.  Appears El Paso is still going strong too.

We went to Austin Java after the meeting and hung out for a bit before leaving.  We headed north and occupied the Walmart where we met Denise and her boyfriend Joseph.  We are now at their house and loving all the affection from Kimbo who is a very impressive and well trained dog.  They have chickens here too and Joseph build the coop which is awesome.  I think we might have to replicate that in Pueblo :-). A dear friend from San Antonio, has followed OTR for some time but we weren’t able to connect on the trip to N.Y. Happy to report we finally got to meet him in Austin today along with Lacey & Freddie who he brought with him. We thoroughly enjoyed exchanging stories with you. It certainly makes us feel good that you appreciate everything we’re doing for Occupy. You are doing the same in your State. We need more of us out there making sure the masses are being educated.
