Working hard in East Pueblo

June 27th, 2017 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Education | KOYC | Lil Stone House | Pueblo

We’ve been working hard on the radio station to bring programs for youth and part of that entailed interviews of kids on the Eastside.  It’s pretty sad when 50% of the 10 kids interviewed openly admit they’ve thought of suicide because life is too tough.  We’re doing our best to reach out to kids and let them know they have support and options.

Two of our donated houses are now up and running.  We host MakerSpace @ 816 E 5th on Fridays from 4-6 pm.  On Saturdays we have open mic and yard fun @ 824 E 5th.   There are more programs coming, we just need funding to make it happen.   Our gardens have been planted thanks to Baker Seed Co (Rare seeds) who donated $250 worth of non-gmo seeds.

We’re making a difference in Pueblo, if only one tiny part of the city.
