Attended a great meeting tonight with CPC (Colorado Progressives). The topic was based on the 100 year anniversary of the Ludlow massacre.

The coal miners had very little in the way of protection from big corps who used them like slaves and when they fought back many died including women and children who were burned alive. It’s a sad thing to think how this kind of thing can happen but really…are we all that much more civilized today? Crazy stuff still goes on in the name of big money influence and corps who can buy whatever, including slave labor (let’s call it that when a company earns ginormous profits and pays so little to its people).
Tonight I met some very wonderful people tonight, some from Denver, who are planning to join us at our next outdoor concert @ Pueblo House. We’re thinking of May 10th as the date if Rick Stanton (PCC) and Alais Clay have the date open.  We’re hoping Ed Wingfield (from Denver) will join us and come sing the blues.

Kim and others were pretty excited about the possibility of our radio station getting off the ground and perhaps earlier than we’d thought. We’re going to meet with some folks with Denver Open Media to get some tips and see their operation for ideas.   Maybe some funding will find its way to us.  (Janet)
