We were not afraid to bring “Occupy” to Parkersburg even though some felt we wouldn’t be welcome there. We felt is was probably the BEST place to be, since the people there are poor and ignorant of fact, as evidenced from the many I interviewed while there. Between the Oil Company’s fracking and the C8 water problem from Dow Chemical their health is being jeopardized. But it appears not everyone has the guts to take on the system, the establishment, or face controversy, for fear of being targeted. The movement is not for the “weak at heart”. Those of us who know that things will continue to get worse, do not back down in the face of the naysayers.
Everything we were going to do in Parkersburg can be done from Pueblo, where we have a huge support system, people power and our own properties from which to work. If down the road, we have obtained the 501c3 and Larry decides he wants to do something admirable and donate the building as agreed upon, we’ll consider taking it on. We are sorry to all of you who were excited to see us have the space where we could gather closer to D.C. and NY., but right now we are wasting precious time. We will remain focused in spite of what has transpired and do the right thing for Occupy the Roads and the movement in general. Thank you for continuing to follow and support us. (Janet)
