Canton gave us a huge welcome

October 20th, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Canton

Tara Nelson was extremely helpful in arranging a wonderful welcome to Canton. We drove up to the Arcadia Grill and there it was…..a beautiful sign they had made the night before. We were fed and stories were exchanged with all the good people who waited for us to arrive.

We had planned to be there early but something came up that left us devastated and we were regrouping and planning. Unfortunately the person who was responsible for getting us funding didn’t come through we have posted the story on FaceBook where you are able to see it here:

After a great dinner at Arcadia we all went to Primo’s for beer and great conversation. We met many new people who were very interested in what we’re doing. We ended the night with popcorn on the “V” and some much needed laughs.

The next morning (today) we started with a radio talk show 90.7 FM Revolutionary Radio where we talked about the many different issues facing the people and what we occupiers are working to achieve. Mike Check and his radio partner Tricky Dick and our experiences made for some great conversation facing America today. We appreciate having spent some time with these two and our very cool occupier T. Nellie (Tara Nelson) who is one of the most enthusiastic occupiers I’ve met.

Later in the day we visited the McKinley Monument and met Stephen and his kids. We took pictures, played around and then headed to the Football Hall of Fame where we captured our “V” in some interesting poses. I was able to get a little something for my avid Football enthusiast husband who knew it was here and would have loved to have been here to enjoy the museum with us.

Tonight we’ll head out to listen to some musicians at a local place (which I will post) nearby. We have definitely OCCUPIED Canton!!!
