Occupying a small part of history in Pueblo, CO

July 26th, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in El Pueblo Unido | Pueblo - (Comments Off on Occupying a small part of history in Pueblo, CO)

After arriving on Monday it’s been a whirlwind of excitement and a pouring out of offers to help renovate this little red house which was donated recently. We would like to thank Mark Carlos for giving us this house and an opportunity to show the community what we’re about. Pueblo, CO will be South Colorado Hub (SOCO) for Occupy. Since posting the information we’re happy to report that the community has come together in a great way to ensure we have the necessary tools to get the job done. (more…)

Kansas City

Unfortunately we weren’t able to connect with occupiers in Kansas City until after we were through town. We reached out the night before both on FaceBook and Twitter but by the time someone got in touch we were already passed it. The tempurature is 104 right now and it’s unbearable for me at least. Occupy Columbia – Rocheport

July 22nd, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Rocheport - (Comments Off on Occupy Columbia – Rocheport)

Another town we rolled through hoping to find someone but no one responded to our shout out via FaceBook or Twitter. Shortly before hitting the town we heard from Michael Brooks who lives on a farm near there. We took up the offer of staying about 2 hours west of Columbia, since we hadn’t heard from anyone there and it was late… it made sense to keep truck’n. (more…)

Occupy Cincinnati

July 21st, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Cincinnati - (Comments Off on Occupy Cincinnati)

We arrived in Cincinnati around 7pm looking forward to a music fund raiser that was to take place around 9pm at the warehouse. Got a tour of this warehouse once Nathan arrived and started setting up his equipment. What an awesome place. Totally the best I’ve seen so far and if not for the heat (no air conditioning) would have been perfect. While Nathan was setting up I interviewed Tim Brown who gave me some background on the Cincinnati occupy group. (more…)

Occupy Columbus, Ohio

July 21st, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Columbus OH - (Comments Off on Occupy Columbus, Ohio)

Arrived in Columbus (Capitol of OHIO) around noon and immediately found the one lone tent/canopy that adorned the sidewalk outside the Capitol Bdlg. There we met Jamie who gave us some scoop on the camp, etc. We were planning to attend the GA scheduled for 2 p.m. So we showed off the “V” before parking it around the corner in a “occupy friendly” parking lot. Tino stayed aboard the “V” working while I went to the GA and met Columbus occupiers. (more…)

Occupy Pittsburgh oh oh, not so much.

July 19th, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Pittsburgh PA - (Comments Off on Occupy Pittsburgh oh oh, not so much.)

What an amazing conversation we just had at a rest stop between Pittsburgh and Columbus. This guy (draft dodger), who was instrumental in the 60’s revolution, just stopped by to congratulate us on what we’re doing. He loved the “V” and the statement we make! He told us stories of what he/they did in the 60’s to make a difference and gave us some advice/tips on how to we can make progress in our revolution. (more…)

We arrived in Harrisburg this afternoon and gathered under the canopy that adorns the front of the Capital building. It rained and a bit of the heat subsided briefly. We talked to Nelson (who was our contact) about what was happening in Harrisburg and was immediately filled in on all the fracking that is being planned and how the Mayor pushed through a bill that will allow copious amounts of water to be removed from the river to aid fracking. July 17, We attended the hearing in the a.m. then decided to head out since there were lots covering the story including the Bradley Manning support team, Emma, Jeff, Bailey and others. We felt good about being there and showing support for our hero Bradley.

Ironing out the intricate details of wording etc. will take a whil and since we have our project in Pueblo we decided it best to head out there and get it going. (more…)

July 14th, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in New York -OWS | NYC-GA - (0 Comments)

I decided to attend the OWS GA which I heard NY was an attempting to restart after a slow down period. NYCGA have had lots of issues with control and getting support back out for their once grand GA’s. I arrived a little late (occutime) to find things had already started. People gathered around but I didn’t recognize too many from back in Feb. I listened for a while and then someone started to talk about consensus and it went LONG! I left when I met someone from OWS for an hour, came back and the same conversation was going on. Wow, I could tell this was going to be a long night. (more…)

Guitarmy & the 99 mile march headed to Zuccotti today

July 11th, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Guitarmy | New York -OWS | Occupy Camps | Philadelphia - (Comments Off on Guitarmy & the 99 mile march headed to Zuccotti today)

July 11-March & Zuccotti

The march went from Stapleton Park in Staten Island to New York’s infamous Zuccotti Park. After everyone gathered in the park the guitarmy folks set aboard the ferry. The music on the ferry was thunderous and tourists sang along. Noticeable were the two coast guard boats with M-16’s on the front. Uhm was that for Occupy? There certainly has been a great deal of money spent to make sure 60+ musical occupiers are kept obedient. (more…)
