Occupy Greeley and 5 de Mayo Parade

May 5th, 2012 | Posted by Occupy The Roads in Greeley

What a surprise it was to find out we won 1st prize in the 5 de Mayo parade as best float!   We found out the parade was happening and decided as a last minute entry to participate thanks to Brandi and Bob for letting us know.   As we arrived around 8 am we were directed to our position and then met a few of the Greeley Occupiers, shared coffee and donuts and stories.  The parade went down 14th about 8 or 9 blocks and straight into the Island Grove Regional Park, where we sat for the duration of the celebrations.  What a gorgeous day spent with amazing people.  We offered to leave our trophy with Greeley but they insisted we take it on board and that’s where it will be for all to see.  Thank you to Greeley Occupiers and citizens of the town for allowing us to participate and enjoy all the festivities.  Big thanks to Todd who made a gazillion buttons for us 🙂 you’re the best!
